Dewey’s Candy Shop was opened in 2009 in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn. The store design was kept simple, using all white fixtures and a chocolate brown painted floor to call attention to the multi-colored candy found throughout the store. The only use of intentional color comes with the signature stripes of the back wall and the crowd-pleasing candy chandelier, made of actual oversized lollipops that were suspended from multicolored grosgrain ribbon. My hand-drawn illustrations of classic candies on butcher paper line the upper shelves.
